Looking for fresh produce close to home? We open for the 4th of July, with a complete line of fresh fruits and vegetables, until the end of October. When we open our greenhouse tomatoes have just started to ripen, and there are some local vegetables available. We take pride in being honest with the customer. If the vegetable has not been grown on our farm, we tell you WHERE it has been grown. Native, in our stand, means either CT or MA grown. Our fruits are all US grown.
We are not an organic farm, HOWEVER, vegetables grown on our farm, have not had any "sprays" put on them. Our fields are maintained the "old fashioned way". If there are weeds, we physically pull or hoe them out. If there are bugs, they aren't picked. If it is a poor growing year and a plant needs chemicals to make it through, it is our loss. This is a rule that Johnny always followed and taught us. Spraying with chemicals, would be defeating our purpose of growing our own vegetables. Not only do we want to be able to sell the freshest possible to you, the public, but we want to have peace of mind, that we are not putting anyone's health at risk, due to certain growing practices.
Heirloom tomatoes have become quite popular in the past 4 or so years, and when they start to ripen we have a nice variety for you to choose from. Again, all grown on our farm.
Enjoy the "flavors" of summertime, and stop by. You'll be glad you did. Good quality, good prices, good choice.
